About The Project

Project Background

At their Board of Directors meeting on April 14, 2021, the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) invited the Whitman-Hanson Regional School District into a Feasibility Study for the Whitman Middle School. A feasibility study will be performed to understand the best solution to the physical and educational deficiencies of the Whitman Middle School.

The Existing Conditions

The original Whitman Middle School Building was constructed over 50 years ago and has reached the end of its useful life. The building does not meet handicap accessibility requirements and the education spaces do not meet modern state standards. The aged and inefficient building systems create high utility costs and an unhealthy interior environment for students.
